“Under The Influence”, is a platform for quality new artists performing originals and covers. Our monthly night sees each act usually perform three songs, two of their own and one cover by the featured artist of the month (we’ve had nights dedicated to acts as wide ranging as Johnny Cash, Pixies, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, The Clash and many many more.)

Our monthly night caters primarily for acoustic acts, signed and unsigned (although we have put on bands too, including a 12 piece!).

Under The Influence has grown over the last three years. In 2013 we took the concept to two festivals: The End Festival In Crouch End and the Great Escape Festival In Brighton. At The Great Escape Festival in Brighton we dedicated the night to Billy Bragg (as he was headlining the friday night) and he came along to the night and joined the acts onstage.
Our monthly “Under The Influence” event takes place on the third monday of every month at The Boogaloo, 312 Archway Road, London, N6 5AT.
Our first full band night was a collaboration with “Before The Gold Rush” and took place on 29th August 2014 at The Sebright Arms, featuring a mix of original music and classic covers from four folk/Americana bands.
We’re also planning other events at larger venues soon.
In addition to this we’ve launched a monthly podcast that has a live session and interview with a different artist each month and plays a selection of songs from acts who have performed at Under The Influence.
We’ve also started a small record label.
The first release was the debut album by The Reverse, “Kind Words For Cruel Times” at the end of 2013. There are plans for further releases, including compilation albums, in the future.
