There was great excitement in Brighton on Saturday 18th May when Billy Bragg attended the Under The Influence showcase at Fitzherberts at The Alternative Escape (part of The Great Escape festival) and joined the acts onstage for a singalong of “A New England”!
Our showcase was upstairs at “Fitzherberts” on Sat 18th May. As Friday’s Great Escape headliner we thought it fitting to pay tribute to the legendary Billy Bragg so each act performed a Bragg cover as well as two of their own songs.

Billy had officially given the event his blessing and kindly agreed to donate some exclusive Bragg-related prizes that we gave away on the night, but there was great excitement when he turned up in person, taking time to speak with all the acts that played, signing autographs, chatting with fans and finally joining the acts onstage for a singalong of “A New England”.
